Nova Scotia Development Context
The Cohasset-Panuke field, first discovered in 1973, started development drilling for oil in 1992. All other subsequent projects are natural gas. In 1998, The Sable Offshore Energy Project began development drilling for natural gas. This project included the placement of pipelines to the shore. The Deep Panuke Offshore Gad Development Project began producing natural gas in 2013 and is expected to continue for 13 years.
